**My quick disclaimer is I haven't been up there yet this year so don't know what snow conditions are present, if any. Here's a quick run down of my favorite areas, all of which require very little technical skill, so you don't have to worry about breaking your bike before your return trip: Our family spends a couple weeks up there every summer and the last couple years I've been doing some exploring on my bike and have really enjoyed it. Regarding rides around Vail there are quite a few really nice areas. It's not a super nice hotel but I've found the Roost Lodge in Vail usually has some of the least expensive rooms in the area Facilities at this hotel include gym and fitness center.Sylvan Lake is a really pretty area but not sure if an hour or so drive would be worth it. The Welcombe Golf & Spa Hotel Best Western Premier Collection is 2 miles from Stratford-upon-Avon, which boasts many tourist attractions including the Royal Shakespeare Company and Stratford Racecourse. Rooms also include a work desk, tea and coffee-making facilities and bathrooms with a bath, shower and hairdryer. The spacious rooms at the hotel are decorated in modern colours and feature TVs with a variety of entertainment channels. Built in 1866, the 4-star hotel features an impressive lounge, with a large marble fireplace, chandeliers and period furniture. The Welcombe spa has been upgraded in 2018. Located on the outskirts of the beautiful town of Stratford upon Avon, just 5 minutes from the M40. The Welcombe Golf & Spa Hotel Best Western Premier Collection features an 18 hole, par 70 golf course. Historical Warwick is a 20-minute drive away. Just a few minutes’ walk from The Royal Shakespeare Company, Macdonald Alveston Manor is a 10-minute walk from Anne Hathaway’s Cottage. The property has invested a significant amount in its modern meeting and business facilities, as well as the bar, lounge and public areas. The timber-framed Tudor building is surrounded by peaceful grounds, said to have held the first performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Blue Lounge offers morning coffee and afternoon teas.
